The Edisto Blackwater Boogie is all about celebrating the Edisto, and what would a celebration of the Edisto be without river activities?
In between musical performances and other festival events, be sure to make time to participate in some of the river activities that will be going on during the weekend!
All the equipment you need to have fun on the water will be available for rent.
Kick back and relax by enjoying a float down the Edisto—for just $20 per tube, you can drift along for 2 miles until you reach Edisto River Adventures, after which a shuttle will take you back to Givhans Ferry State Park. Paddleboards ($25), Single Kayaks ($25), and Tandem Kayaks ($35) will all also be available for rental. It’s everything you’d need for a self-guided paddle, and it includes a shuttle back to the park.
During the Edisto Blackwater Boogie, there will be three organized guided paddles:
Edisto Sunset Paddle, Friday, October 11
Meet at Givhans Ferry State Park at the sandbar behind Riverfront Hall at 5:30 pm for sign up, paperwork, payment, and kayak fitting. The paddle starts at 6 p.m. Paddle 2 miles down to Edisto River Adventures and take a free shuttle back to the park after. The trip time is approximately 1 hour. The cost is $25 for a Single Kayak or Paddleboard and $35 for Tandem Kayaks. Those with their own equipment are welcome to join the paddle for $20. This includes all equipment necessary to paddle.
